The first single off Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown. Produced by Butch Vig of Garbage drums and Nirvana production fame.

Know Your Enemy Lyrics:
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Violence is an enemy
Against the enemy
Violence is an energy
Bringing on the fury
The choir infantry
Revolt against the honor to obey
Overthrow the effigy
The vast majority
Burning down the foreman of control
Silence is the enemy
Against your urgency
So rally up the demons of your soul
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
The insurgency will rise
When the bloods been sacrificed
Don't be blinded by the lies
In your eyes
Violence is an energy
From here to eternity
Violence is an energy
Silence is the enemy
So gimme gimme revolution
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy
Overthrow the effigy
The vast majority
Burning down the foreman of control
Silence is the enemy
Against your urgency
So rally up the demons of your soul
More songs from Act 1 Hereos and Cons
i think that is terrible
ReplyDeletewhat's this??
ReplyDeleteHey You two... thats right you two... go shove it!!! Those lyrics are so beautiful that when I read them I cried a little...
ReplyDeletebilly joe armstrong= political genius. his lyrics are so deep. why even watch the news? just pick up a green day album. it'll blow your mind.
ReplyDeletethats not green day! FAKE!
ReplyDeletelisten people, this is not the full song but is green day, the song will be released some time around april 20th-21st, and the video on the 24th
ReplyDeletewhoever doesn't like the brilliant music of green day should not be looking at their lyrics. kthnx bye.
ReplyDeleteBy that logic, the FBI shouldn't translate Islamic messages and American politicians shouldn't read UN Agenda documents or GIANT laws written by card carrying members of the Communist Party. I'll read what I want you NAZI.
DeleteBilie joe armstrong is not a political genius. his lyrics are basically an angry democrat. Don't get me wrong, I love green day, but to say the lead singer is a political genius is just false. He is a musician, not a politician.
ReplyDeleteto you who said this is fake:
ReplyDeleteCAN'T YOU HEAR? IT'S CLEARLY BILLIE JOE'S VOICE SINGING! IT'S NOT GOD DAMNED FAKE!
and if you don't believe me: than the future will show you that your freakin' wrong! :D
yeah! long live to green day, that band showed me that everything of the society is a fake, and that politic is a bullshit (well actually I knew that when I've listened them the first time xD)
ReplyDeleteum, its on Green Day's official website. I'm pretty damn sure its not fake.
ReplyDeletehey thats off of the NCAA college basketball tournament!! i love greenday! longlive us kids, eh?
ReplyDeleteGreen Day is a Leftist / Communist cheer-leading band led by a petulant piss-ant who either doesn't have a clue about the 100 million people that Communists murdered during the last century, or does have a clue, but doesn't have a moral compass. The band is crap, the music is crap, and the ideology is pure unadulterated EVIL being served up for a mindless mob of self-serving, undereducated idiots.
ReplyDeleteYeah, 'cause like, the only left-wing people in the world are communists, right? Who said anything about extremism? You can be left-wing without being a communist, just like you can be right-wing without turning into Hitler and setting up a Nazi regime. I assume that if you're not left-wing, you're right-wing; does that mean you're a facist? He's singing about anti-war, which to me = anti-murder, which I guess indicates that he does have a moral compass.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this album for ages! Love Green Day!!
I just saw the preview on YouTube of the new video from greendayauthority.com and it's amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they're back!! It makes me wanna cry!
Green Day = wannabe political punks
ReplyDeleteGo listen to album "Know Your Enemy" by the Crust punk band "Behind Enemy Lines". Does that album name sound familiar?
Find out what true punk music sounds like.
Green Day is shit
So why are you bothering to waste your time reading their lyrics, if that's what you think?
ReplyDeleteGreen Day are amazing. I nearly cried when I found out they weren't playing Leeds Fest.
Is Democracy any better then Comunism in the long run? No. If only all comunisms didn't go for world domination there'd be alot more.
ReplyDeletehey, i think its "we're burning down the department of control". Whatd you think?
ReplyDeleteits "Overthrow the effigy" im positive
ReplyDeletefor god's sake this is not a debate about politics, I just don't care what your ideals are, just listen to the goddamn music (which by the way i loved it).
ReplyDeleteI think its something like "flagon" of control...except that's not a word.
ReplyDeletekeep in mind that this album is like amrican idiot, a concept album with caracter situation ans story. the lyrics may not be billie joe's opinion on everythings. it's just the caracter lines. like a movie.
ReplyDeletemaybe i'm wrong but...
It sounds like "foreman of control" but idk
ReplyDeleteThe song is amazing and love the lyrics. OMG i cant wait until all of u who think this is fake get proven wrong...and watch this song go straight to number 1!!!
ReplyDeleteThey dont sound the same, green day doesnt have to make a political refrence or be left winged they are a band, but the album dissapoints me because the two songs ive heard from it so far sound like mainstream songs, and it better not be cause thats the lowest of the low
ReplyDeletei think they say
ReplyDelete*all us know* the effigy
and
we're burning down the *father* of control
who the fuck said green day was communist???
ReplyDeleteGreen Day is the best band in the century. The people that think they're fake don't know the meaning of music. No offence Green Day made me who i am now. It made me not follow the crowd but to just be myself. The guided me in a way. Green Day is amazing they are the best band ever!!
ReplyDeleteNot trying to be a critic but it's not Wa'hay it's
ReplyDeleteRight, it's the way he says it
He basicly says it
Ri ate
Listen to it carfully and please change, thank you
The lyrics are actually
ReplyDeleteDo you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well gotta know the enemy right .
Violence is an energy,
against the enemy
well violence is an energy right
Bring on all the fury
the choir infultrating
revolt against the honor to obey
Silence is the enemy
against beuocracys
so rally up the demons of your soul
Insurgency will rise
when the blood's been sacrificed
I filled in the bits you did wrong!
awh the little teenies spelling his name wrong has started all over again. i remember it well from 5 years ago :)
ReplyDeletehe's looked up the lyrics for this song cause hes a die hard Green Day fan and wanted to know the lyrics and this album is not meant to be like American Idiot... they want it to be like the old school days.. 1039 or Kerplunk... ya the good albums b4 Dookie put them on the map..
ReplyDeleteWhy are the songs split into acts
ReplyDeleteTo get use guyz right out their it is burning down the foreman of control coz i looked up the lyrics and it is Wa'hey its not right Green day are the best this is gonna win them some grammys
ReplyDeleteI like it. I dont care what anyone else sais I like it.
ReplyDeletethey're back! and this is amazing! =)god i listen to this and just want to cry so bad, ive got an awful test tomorrow but dont really care THEY'RE BACK!
ReplyDeletefuck off green day haters -.- they are the most amazin band...
ReplyDeleteGreen day is one of the most amazing bands. Take their music for what it is. And it is GREAT! If it makes you move, dont fight the feeling.
ReplyDeleteAs if this isn't Green Day, clearly you aren't a real supportive fan if you can't tell that this is Billie Joe's voice.
ReplyDeletethe song is kool, but the lyrics are repetetive
ReplyDeletethe single is now on itunes
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's hilarious that some people STILL don't know how to spell Billie Joe Armstrong's name correctly.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for their new album. :D
Pretty good, they can do better though. I have always been a Green Day fan and I miss their punk days. Longview is one of the best punk songs ever, they really need to get back to their "grass roots" if you know what i'm talkin' bout'. as far as the politics bs goes, Billy Joe is not a politician, he is a professional musician/artist. I can guaranty you that Billy Joe does not come to his political decisions by listening to his favorite band. Only the worst of the American idiots form their political ideas by listening to their favorite band. music is entertainment not politics, and thank God for that! GABBA GABBA HEY! LONG LIVE THE RAMONES!!!
ReplyDeletesorry i "misspelled billy's name you friggin anal cunt. Oh and by the way Johnny Ramone whome Billie Joe named his daughter Ramona after was a hard core republican and the greatest punk rock guitar player that ever lived!!!
ReplyDeleteThe song is just an angry rant. I like their music but sometimes their message is too far political that if people take all their songs directly to heart they need to be seriously examined they are only musicians would you really want them handling lets say, defense?, international diplomacy? I really don't think so
ReplyDeleteughhhh....i miss the old green day!!! DDD:
ReplyDeletethe song is catchy, but still not as good as their old stuff.
i'm just glad to see them on the music scene again.(:
oh btw, ramona is the name of tre cool's daughter. billie doesn't have a daughter; just two sons.
Some of you like Green Day some not!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWho cares who like them or not??????
Shut up already
Yeah! Shaddaupa ya face!
ReplyDeleteWell it's nice to see the fanbase hasn't changed.
ReplyDeleteHa, sarcasm.
o.O
I love u.
ReplyDeleteI hate you.
If you like tomatoes write yes.
I am motherfu**** moronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!
This site sucks
Green Day just gets worse and worse, I didn't think they had anything left to sell out with.
ReplyDeleteWhy are they still making songs?
ReplyDeleteThey are not getting more popular!!!!!
OK Green Day is the Shitznit>>>i rest my case>>> NOW LEAVE IT ALONE, PPL HAVE OPINIONS so wat!!! Now GO take a damn chill pill like now...go!
ReplyDeleteThe songs ok but Green Day still sucks
ReplyDeleteit's not fake it just sucks and dookie was awesome
ReplyDeleteFor all of you that say "Green Day" Sucks,You are all so blind to true talent...Bille Joe has and always will be #1....Green Day Is The Best Band Alive....
ReplyDeleteI am so pride to like a band as Green Day.
ReplyDeleteThey're perfect and I LOVE all their lyrics...
As I'm always saying...
They're back.
Let's Rock;
Foxboro Hot Tubs is way better.
ReplyDeleteive never loved green day more. i think they are absolute GODS. no one is a bigger fan than me. i would let the world end instead of green day ending
ReplyDeleteWow, either enjoy the music or go fuck around somewhere else! God Damn. Green Day is purely great. =]
ReplyDeleteGreen Day rules! <3
ReplyDelete1st of all, if u dont lik green day then y were u looking them up? and 2nd it is not fake, this is their new song from their new album, but i guess fake fans wouldnt kno that would they?
ReplyDeletegreen day = ownage.
ReplyDeletebut what does he say after every verse?
like,
"do you know the enemy?
do you know your enemy?
well, gotta know the enemy ...."
like .. ry aye?
i think the new green day is trying to hard to be different and make a statement wich just happens to be political. i wish they stayed the old greenday forever. like kerplunk. and nimrod. and stuff like that. they made a statement then too but it wasnt trying so hard and ppl related to it. and we loved it.
ReplyDeleteit's much better than I expected I'm glad!
ReplyDeleteso long since American idiot. At last! even 4 years later my feelings came along again. it's strange in a certain way...I still love them enven if they are not the best band in the world,on in the century, enven if Billie Joe's lyrics are not complicated or sophisticated, enven if I grow and discover they have covered many things to better groups. they have changed my life and given it back some live when I needed and so I'll never forget that feeling I assume...
I hope the album will be as good as this first single and they'll be in my heart even though I think bad of them some day (what they somtimes deserve).

you're mature. ;)
doesn't impress me at all. and I'm referring to the quality of writing, not the statement he's making
ReplyDeleteI freaking love this song.
ReplyDeleteBillie Joe Armstrong screaming equals awesome.
And I like the lyrics.
i'm not a HUGE greenday fanatic, but just gotta ask:
ReplyDeleteright after "well, gotta know the enemy" in the chorus, are they chantin' "we're here. we're here."?
has anyone kinda noticed that? is it just me? >_<
why do people feel the need to come on here with their fancy words being all high and mighty and talking trash about green day?
ReplyDelete1- get a life
2- fuck off and spout you're crap somewhere else
ace song, ace band....obviously
Green Day Roooocks !!!
ReplyDeleteKnow Your Enemy - GREAT SONG!! I'm so glad to see the new album is out. Way to rock Greenday!
ReplyDeleteGreat song!!
ReplyDeleteThe Essential Green day!
Keep Rockin..
Jääää!
ReplyDelete77 Nimrods. Gotta be the longest thread on a lyric page in a while!
ReplyDeletehey guys sorry...my first language is not english and im having troubles understanding this!
ReplyDeletewhat does billie mean with violence is the energy against the enemy? that violence is okay??? or not? it's kinda contradicting or probably it's just me.
sorry dont think im dumb, im just really trying to understand!!
cuz i love green day but fuck violence seriously.
Communism = Left Wing
ReplyDeleteAnarchy = Right Wing
I'm pretty sure Green is either politically far right or they're completely fake and doing the whole punk thing as a front.
http://www.spinner.com/2009/04/17/billie-joe-armstrong-goes-nuts-for-robert-pattinson-obama-and/
ReplyDeleteIt's a front. Do YOU know the enemy, Billie? Either buck up and walk how you talk, or get out of the political arena.
Ha! When they start playing shows at tea parties I'll start taking their political views seriously!
ReplyDeleteyeah you can be socially liberal and politically right wing. green day should think about what they sing about and grow a pair.
ReplyDeleteMusicians are like designers. Music, visual, they are all modes of communication. Maybe they are just representing the crowd whom they sing for. Whom they do business with. Who will buy their album. It may not represent what they think themselves, but heck, if it makes their lyrics sound poetic and people buy it, why not?
ReplyDeleteHey! The link is wrong! I click on "¡Viva La Gloria!" and send me to Know Your Enemy =(
ReplyDeletePD: I think the people how is posting "shit" about Green Day, are cowards. Why you enter like "Anonymous" ah? Post your name if you are convinced tath you are saying is right
I used to be a huge GD fan, owning all their albums up to American Idiot, but my God, I think this is awful. They never really wrote particularly technical or deep songs at any time, but this almost seems like a joke. It's so repetitive and boring. I've lost pretty much all interest in them. I can't believe how bad this song is.
ReplyDeletegreen day is shit
ReplyDeletegreat
ReplyDeleteHey Green Day, the political cr-p isn't working. Give it up.
ReplyDeleteI'm sick of musicians pretending to be politicians. Give me a break.
ReplyDeleteOne of the worst songs of Green day. They always do the same shit....
ReplyDeleteFirst time I heard this I thought the radio station's computer crashed because they kept repeating the same line over and over, then I realized... They say "Do You know your enemy?" 26 times according to these lyrics, which is more than a little heavy, even by modern standards. I don't have anything against Green Day, but honestly I cringe every time I hear them start playing this song.
ReplyDeleteCorrection: They say "enemy" 26 times, not the whole line. Same point though.
ReplyDeleteYou should all go on google and search Zeitgeist.
ReplyDeleteworst song ever!!!
ReplyDeletethis song sucks huge ass!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this song. I think some people don't get it. Each of is has some sort of "enemy". That being said, I believe those that are hating the song can't see past the end of their nose. If you can apply it to yourself, consider yourself lucky.
ReplyDeleteSome people just don't get Green Day. There are a lot of bands that make statements. If you don't like it, don't listen. If you don't like it and you STILL listen, don't bitch about it!
Sorry, that should have said, " if you CAN'T apply it to yourself, consider yourself lucky".
ReplyDeleteI like the song. It has a very good message. You have to like it. It is also something you can just listen to and enjoy.
ReplyDeletehi!
ReplyDeletei am 100 poster
the text is wrong:
ReplyDeleteViolence is an enemy <-------- wrong
Against the enemy
Violence is an energy
the correct stanza is:
Violence is an energy
Against the enemy
Violence is an energy
Erin i agree with you
ReplyDeleteits not just green day most people dont get mostly the same type of people dont get punk and punk rock all togther...
it take a special kind of person to enjoy punk, but only the true, free and anarchy fuelled will ever understand it...
fucking GREEN DAY man!!! they are awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteohh man these FUCKING greenday rocks!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like such a retard reading some one these comments due to the fact that my knowledge on politics is the weakest of everything that I know. haha.
ReplyDeleteBut I still get the jist of it. If I'm not wrong, the lyrics to the songs on the album relate to war and everything wrong in our society. And just looking back to the beginning of the 21st century and where've we've gotten from there.
Whether or not Billie Joel Armstrong IS or isn't a political genius, he sure is a music genius. I love Green Day. When I heard "Know Your Enemy" I wasn't so sure about the album, but after listening to the other tracks, I thought "Wow, this album is awesome."
They should put something like "Viva La Gloria" out on the radio. "Know Your Enemy" doesn't do the album justice in my opinion. It's still good, but not as good as most of the other songs. =-)
Can't wait to put their songs on my iPod!!
so i just saw green day on the colbert report so i came online to look up the lyrics 2 see wtf billy joe was actually saying
ReplyDeletei was a fan of greenday durring the dookie-nimrod portion of there career, but the thing that you have to understand is that green day is a shity pop punk band that sold out, i could have written the lyrics to this song, green day isnt even really punk anymore they just write catchy songs that dont mean nething, no balls you wont rep subhumans, gen X, gang green,DK, or nething else that'll actually make you not just think about politics but wanna fuck sum shit up, its not sum catchy bullshit- "do you know your enemy, do you know your enemy, you gotta know your enemy" for the whole song, theres some actual thought to it
did you know greenday is so hardcore they refuse to sell there newest album at wallmart? thats so radical right? NOT, dude who the fuck gets music at wallmart, actually.... who the fuck BUYS music nemore? when was the last time a punk kid went to wallmart other then to steal something or rob the store?
oh and just for the record, the guy that does the shamwow comercails: after violently beating a hooker that heh picked up, stealing her money and her blow, n leaving her for dead in a hotel room that he paid for in cash, has started doing comercails for the slap chop, lets give him a round of aplause, the legend is BACK ON THE AIR
Pretty tough talk for a bunch of faggits with daddy issues.
ReplyDeleteokay seriously... obviously the song hasn't worked for some of you. that is really no call to say it is bullshit...
ReplyDeletesome people loved the song and felt it, some didn't... matter of opinion...
if you didn't, say you didn't, fullstop.
people talking about communism as a form of genocide, seriously, shut up.
yeah sure it hasn't worked in the past, and has been used inappropriately but then fight against what people did, not the idea of communism.
If you think these lyrics are bull cause they're catchy - what kind of retard are you? Catchy gets people singing along, pulls people in.. Catch may be the point. The repetition may have a point to it.
And why the hell do you have to think that the band is trying and failing to be "hardcore" in a punk manner of speaking, when actually they are doing things just to make a statement about something. The fact that you think to be hardcore you need to have an album stolen by a punk kid, makes me think you are the loser wishing you were "hardcore" and so are mouthing off about something you have NO IDEA about...
i love their song know your enemy!!!!!!! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteits awesome!! nothings fake about em. Billie Joe's voice is so great but i still love Bill/Tom Kaulitz voice(s) better. ♥ :D Love all the green day/tokio hotel fans!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥
So who's spreading fear and tension as an "American Idiot" now?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I would like to preface my comment by saying I am a big Green Day fan, and usually I think thier politically driven lyrics are great.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this song absolutely sucks. The first time I heard it I knew I never wanted to hear it again. Its just the same verse over and over and over again, with billy joe mumbling and then either saying the word enemny or a word that sounds like enemy. Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Every time I hear it on the radio I want to shoot myself. Hopefully the song never plays in my car when Im driving over a bridge
the sham wow guy has been doin commercials for the slap chop since long before he beat up any hookers....correction, since long before he got caught for beating up hookers. This guy has prob been beating up hookers his whole life and needed a way to clean up the blood better so he invented the shamwow. Still, I would rather listed to shamwow/slapchop commercials for the rest of my life than this new abhorrent Green Day crap.
ReplyDeleteIf you love this song you are a complete, raging idiot and all you think is important about music is that its fuckin cathcy. This shit pisses me off so much. The song is just awful, the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
ReplyDeleteGood job maintaining your image green day. Lets rebel against society and the government! Lets make songs that really dont even relate to current issues but get treated as such because they talk about enemies and overthrowing the people that control us. And while we do that, well make the song cathcy so people will have to like it, cuz if people dont like it then we wont be popular and that would be the end of the world. Green day hasnt made any music with legitamite meaning this decade so I dont know how some idiot can say the are the "band of the century" Green day makes cathcy songs, there not even punk songs, theres no difference between Green day, Weezer, or any other shit band that relies on their songs being catchy to draw people in rather than actually using their musical talent, which I know green day does possess cuz they used to use it, to make GOOD music. God Damn.
this song rocks
ReplyDeleteam i the only one hearing "when the pope's been sacrificed.."?
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about Green Day is that they actually think they are leading a revolution. Above someone compared Green Day to Weezer, but that comparison cannot be made. Weezer makes catchy songs to make funny catchy songs. Green Day makes catchy songs because they think they are politically powerful. That is not only stupid, its sad. And it makes me laugh when people say this song makes them cry. Listen to something besides Green Day. They're really not leading a revolution.
ReplyDeleteThe "Gimme Gimme Revoulution" part pumps me up, and makes me wanna punch some1
ReplyDeleteYa know i love how a lot of these people say they hate the song and they hate Green Day... THEN WHY THE F--- ARE YOU LOOKING UP GREEN DAY LYRICS?!
ReplyDeleteAnd those who hate him... You obiously dont know good music. I bet atleast half of you listen to your little Rap songs. New flash. Rap is stupid. Its bassically peoople SPEAKING really fast.
Green Day rocks and love the song. Its my second favorite from the album. "Viva la Gloria" is my favorite though. (:
awesomness
ReplyDeletethis song rokks
ReplyDeleteIt's a really annoying song. Hard to be more monotonous than this.
ReplyDeletefuck you anonymous
ReplyDeletethis song isn't monotonous!
ReplyDeletelisten to massive attack and then say something
fuck you all green day haters!
others, ignore those people without good taste in music
haha, this band is so badass, and to the prude that stated "green day is a communist cheer leading band", Green day is not communistic! as a matter of fact this song is anti big government, anti american government, watch the video, ever been a little freaked out about cameras at stoplights, cameras cameras everywhere? Owned by the us government? watch the video you prude, they're probably more conservative than you ( and I mean the positive side of conservativism, not the angry prude hating side) George W is a socialist and you probly fell for him hook line and sinker. And so is our new president. (personal opinion, don't be offended)
ReplyDeleteGIMME GIMME REVOLUTION!!!!!!
Love the band! This song is friggin AWESOME!! Go to hell the people who say Greenday is fake and all that other shit! After all Hatin' Greenday make them MORE Famuos! Ha! In your hatin' face! xP
ReplyDeletewhat the heck who ever said this was communist was a dumbass. FACE IT GREEN DAY IS BETTER THAN YOU
ReplyDeleteFor all the anti-green day fans... I have 4 words for u "make ur own songs"
ReplyDeletelyrics are just one way of telling the truth - and he's right - thank whoever we got somebody out there doing it - him and a few others - he is a genius at getting the political message out
ReplyDeletethere
Hi, I'm an indonesian.,
ReplyDeleteand I love Green Day very much altough they are an american, a place that so far away from my country..
And I think they are the best band I ever known..
Sorry about my bad american language..
Why the fuck does everyone have to bring politics into this? Why can't we just enjoy music like its meant to be like we used to. This country is going down the drain and its all our fault. I want to hear your input on this so email me about this at jackeboy1994@gmail.com. Make the subject Greenday or politics and I will respond.
ReplyDeletejackeboy1994@gmail.com
This Song is Totally Awesome.....Great song and great lyrics.
ReplyDeleteOk firstly, I am quite a big Green Day fan myself, but this song gets on my nerves. It shouldn't be on the radio, and doesn't represent the (mostly) awesome album. It's repetitive and catchy at best, but it doesn't serve the album or the band justice. Last Night on Earth or one of the Gloria's should have taken it's place. Maybe Murder City if the word Murder were allowed on the radio.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I laugh at the people who say green day are communist. They're more anarchist/anti-government than anything in their songs... and communism is TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL. O_o
So honestly when some of their songs are satires on big government, they couldn't possibly be communist. It makes no sense to me.
"So honestly when some of their songs are satires on big government, they couldn't possibly be communist. It makes no sense to me."
ReplyDeleteYou're thinking about socialism. In a true communist society, there would be no government and no social classes.
So far, there have been no large-scale communist societies, only socialist ones.
As for Greenday, I do think they are a bit socialist or anarchist, but it can't be confirmed unless they stand up and say that themselves.
Also, I've read a person say that anarchy is right wing. That's not true - it is very far left wing.
GLORY FOR GREEN DAY..
ReplyDeleteThi song sucks soooooo bbbaaaadddd, i turn my sound down every time it comes up,
ReplyDeletefor me this song is all about AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT SHOULD KNOW WHO'S THEIR REAL ENEMY and stop to feed their backstabber with their own tax,,,,,,,,,,, no offense it's just me
ReplyDeleteALIKO NETS
ReplyDeleteGREEN DAY IS THE KIND OF BAND WHICH TURN MY LIFE TO BE ROCK AND ROLL POSITIVE
